Blair County Neighborhood Watch - June County-wide Meeting

A County-wide Neighborhood Watch Meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, June 24, 2014 from 6:00-7:00pm at the Penn State Altoona Devorris Downtown Center (1431 12th Avenue, Altoona).

The guest speakers featured will be Sheriff Mitch Cooper and Sgt. Rob Archey of the Blair County Sheriff's Office, who will talk about Surviving an Active Shooter Attack.

Will you survive if a deranged person begins shooting in your school or workplace?  Can you come out alive if an emotionally disturbed man begins slashing at a mall, movie theatre, or any other public building?  Yes you can; and yes you will survive.  More than that, you can learn to detect, deter, and ultimately defeat that assailant. Sgt. Rob Archey of the Blair County Sheriff's Office will lead you through some of the signs, motivations, and actions of a potential assailant. You will also learn the civilian and law enforcement response to such an event.

The Blair County Neighborhood Watch Program is sponsored by Operation Our Town.  These meetings feature speakers, law enforcement, and current Neighborhood Watch Programs.  Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend to learn more about Neighborhood Watch Programs.
