National Prescription Drug Take-back Day

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has scheduled another National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, October 26, 2013, from 10:00am - 2:00pm to provide a venue for persons who want to dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs.

These medications can be taken to five drop-off locations in Blair County:

  1. Friendship Fire Company (808 E. Main Street, Roaring Spring)
  2. Pennsylvania State Police Barracks (1510 N. Juniata St., Hollidaysburg)
  3. Thompson Pharmacy (600 E. Chestnut Avenue, Altoona)
  4. Tyrone Borough Police Dept. (1100 Logan Avenue, Tyrone)
  5. Walgreen’s (508 E. Plank Road, Altoona)

 

The service is free and anonymous.  Items can be left “as is” with labels on and pills in bottle.  No needles will be accepted.
